Thank you very much, Atlantis! The more people who have these "secret" manuals, the better. Makes it harder for the Society to lie about what their procedures and policies are.

Hi truth_b_known! For what it's worth, I agree that parents must be held responsible to financially support any children they may have, whether that means that both are employed or just one is and the other stays home with the children. I believe it is wrong to have deliberately have children you cannot provided for, and it is dishonorable to not make every effort to provide for your children, regardless of the circumstances.
That said, I would bet that the number of those who have never masturbated in extremely small, probably a tiny fraction of a percent. And once you try it, it's practically impossible to never do it again. So the WT's estimation of those who have masturbated is probably quite low. And active JWs are no exception. They just don't admit it.
I also agree with the majority of the other commenters. Masturbation is not even mentioned in the Bible, even though other very personal matters such as ejaculation (in within marriage) and menstruation were mentioned and regulated repeatedly. The account of the death of Onan has nothing whatsoever to do with masturbation or even birth control. It has to do with his grossly violating the intent of the brother-in-law marriage arrangement. This is just another example of the way organized religions twist scriptural accounts and take them out of context as a premise to control every aspect of their followers' lives.

Thanks, Atlantis! This kind of info needs to be spread far and wide to expose the WT for the money-grubbing mind-control cult it is.
Please give our best to Petra! We hope she is doing well and enjoying life to the fullest!
Take care, my friend.

Some Other Terms For The "Big Bang".....
by titch infolks: as you probably all know, it has been speculated that the whole universe, or cosmos, started with what has been called "the big bang.
" but, i've thought up some other terms for the "bb".
how about the big boom....or, the big kaboom....or, the big explosion...the big ignition...or...the big cosmic fartation.

The Calvin and Hobbes comic strip discussed the Big Bang theory back in the 1990's and came up with the term "Horrendous Space Kablooie (or HSK)." I love it! According to the wikipedia article about the comic strip, some scientists and universities still use the term in a kind of "tongue-in-cheek" reference.
Here's to the HSK! Makes more sense that any religious fairytale.

What made you walk out on the "Truth"?
by Overrated ini had a legal divorce from my ex wife( law of the land).
i was told not to expect to get remarried because my divorce was not legal to watchtower.. my divorce and situation seem to be a talk of gossip and even a many local needs talks.
i wanted to take some more schooling to get a better job, there was a local needs talk on higher education and it's dangers.

The "straw that broke the camel's back" for me was the crap in the "Revelation Climax" book about the angels' trumpets foretelling various WT conventions in the 1920's. I could hardly believe they expected people to swallow that tripe.
Then I read Ray Franz's Crisis of Conscience and that confirmed for all time the decision I had already made.
The Truth© is not the truth. Never was. What's worse, the organization has gone from merely being filled with religious error to becoming a prime example of an authoritarian mind-control money-grubbing cult ruling over its sycophants with greedy iron hand while masquerading as God's spokesmen. It could give the most egregious televangelist in history a run for his money.

Black Lives Matter Flags To Fly Worldwide In US Embassies

George Floyd was a career criminal and habitual thug. Not a suitable role model for anyone. But more importantly, he was not "killed" because he tried to passed a counterfeit twenty. He was arrested for doing so, and then resisted arrest. He got so out of control that the cops took him out of the squad car and placed him on his stomach. His pre-existing medical conditions and his swallowing illicit drugs as he was being arrested are the real reasons he died. The cop's knee over his neck did not kill him.
Still, it was a mistake to not raise him to a sitting position, and I fully agree that the cop showed a complete indifference to his welfare and a total disdain for him as a person. But it was not murder at all. I could agree it fits the description of negligent manslaughter with depraved indifference.

I don't know if I'm considered an old-timer, but I did join 16 years ago. I don't post a lot, but I comment or even start a thread when I have something to say. I try to check in to at least browse every day or so. This site has done me a world of good, and I thank Simon for making it available.

Hello again, Simon!
Please disregard the above. I'm not really sure what I did to get it working, but all is back to normal now. Could it be that I enabled JavaScript? If that's not it, I don't what happened but I'm sure glad everything is working now.
My best to you and yours.

Hi Simon!
I updated my MacOS to BigSur 11.3 this morning. I'm not sure if Safari was updated, but my current version is 14.1. I thought all went well, but when I tried to sign in to JWN using Safari, there was no sign-in block to click on. I can read posts just fine, but of course cannot comment because I cannot sign in. Is this some conflict between your software and the recent "upgrades"?
I am writing this on Firefox, which so far seems to be working normally. Please reply to my registered email address, [email protected], just in case I cannot access your reply here in Technical Support. I'd really appreciate any suggestions you may have.
Warmest regards,

Rap Music That Debases Should Be “Cancelled “
by minimus ini find it interesting that we live in a cancel culture.
the influencers go after abraham lincoln, uncle ben , aunt jemima, the flag, the national anthem, people they perceive as not following their agenda.
in the midst of all of this, rap music and its dehumanizing culture are off limits to talk about.

I think any music that encourages violence against anyone else should be banned. I don't care about words that "offend" others. I care that many rap "songs" glorify if not encourage violence against "hoes" and cops in particular. No one should exposed to that kind of garbage. Political correctness be damned.
